Clean energy at the heart of a smart recovery

18th of September 2020 | 14:00 – 15:00

Event Overview

Build back better? Build forward faster? Just accept a new normal or dare to define it?

Countries and companies around the globe are wrestling with both their real-time response to the Covid-19 pandemic and with making massive decisions that will shape the world beyond it. The energy sector is no different, and the 11th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM11) will bring global energy decision makers together at a pivotal moment to consider critical issues around the theme of “supporting the recovery, shaping the future”.

While the clean energy sector has created jobs and prosperity in many economies over the last decade, how can we ensure that it is an even bigger driver of growth in all economies this decade? The Clean Energy Ministerial’s mission is to accelerate clean energy transitions, but what actions should it take to help the world regain critical momentum and then power forward at pace?

This important CEM11 event will bring ministers and CEOs together to:

  • Consider the key ingredients required for a sustainable recovery in the energy sector
  • Discuss what countries and companies are doing to design and deliver a rapid recovery
  • Define what more the clean energy community must do to secure a rapid, sustainable recovery that also accelerates long-term clean energy transitions
